Powerlink Engineering Company was established in 1992 with the objective of entering into the business of manufacturing high quality electrical switchgear and allied equipment for the industry.
The company had to face stiff competition from old established houses of businesses that were also engaged in the manufacturing/trading of the same type of products. Most of these competitors were foreign based multinationals enjoying access to modern technology. Some Pakistani companies also offered competition to the nascent organization. These Pakistani companies although could not offer equipment employing modern technology but still enjoyed considerable market share because of their low priced equipment.
